Android Tips - Press and Hold

The On/Off Button

Pressing and holding the On/Off button can bring up new options other than locking and unlocking the screen. It can bring up options to switch Flight Mode and Silent Mode to On or Off. The third selection is to shut down the device.




The Menu Button

Long pressing on text will start the cut, copy and paste function. First you will have to highlight it then elect cut or copy function to have the text copied on the clipboard which can be later pasted on any web form of message.

The Desktop

Last but not the least, press and holding in any place on an empty space of the desktop or home-screen will uncover the key to a whole new separate selection of your android phone. You will be able to add new widgets to the home screen, add folders, change wallpapers and shortcuts. This is thereby the easy way of customizing your phone's home-screen.
